Winners of this year’s Reactions London Market Re/insurance Awards were revealed at a glittering ceremony at the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel on Wednesday night.
Chubb, Scor, A J Gallagher and JLT Re were among the companies to win the coveted prizes.
Leading members of the London re/insurance market congregated for an evening of dinner, comedy, celebration and partying, where they were welcomed by Reactions’ editor David Benyon and comedian Hal Cruttenden.

Chubb scooped Insurer of the Year, while A J Gallagher won the award for Insurance Broker of the Year.
Insurance CEO of the Year was handed to Bronek Masojada of Hiscox, while Mike Sapnar at Trans Re took home the prize for Reinsurance CEO of the Year.
Marsh’s Mark Weil was named Insurance Broking CEO of the Year, while JLT Re's Mike Reynolds accepted the Reinsurance Broking CEO prize.
Meanwhile, Guy Carpenter’s Risk & Capital Solutions team got the gong for Reinsurance Broking Team of the Year.
Scor won Reinsurer of the Year, and XL Catlin’s casualty team took home the award for Reinsurance Team of the Year.
Deal of the year went to AIG, TigerRisk and Berkshire Hathaway for the vast liability reserving deal that was completed in January.
Global Achievement of a London Market Insurance or Reinsurer award went to Lloyd’s for its move to open a domestic reinsurance branch in India. Lloyd’s also scooped the Innovation of the Year Award for the Placing Platform Limited initiative.
Legal firm of the year was won by Clifford Chance, while JBA Risk Management were awarded Risk Modeller of the Year.
PwC picked up the silver for the Consultancy of the Year award, while Lloyds Banking Group were named Banking Partner of the Year.
The award for the best tech partner – Technology Provider of the Year – went to Moore Stephens, while Blackrock picked up Asset Manager of the Year.
ILS Fund Manager of the Year went to Hiscox Re Insurance Linked Strategies and Run-off Company of the Year went to R&Q.
Nikolaus von Bomhard, who recently retired as chief executive of Munich Re, was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Scor managing director Malcolm Newman and Rob Childs, non-executive chairman at Hiscox, received judges’ awards for contribution to the industry.
Guy Carpenter’s role in expanding the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) was crowned Global Achievement of a London Market Broker.
Young Broker of the Year was won by Freddy Wootten, a North American treaty reinsurance broker at Aon Benfield, while the broker also scooped In-house PR Team of the Year.
External PR Agency of the Year went to Haggie Partners, while Hiscox collected the Marketing Campaign of the Year award for its cyber risk protection campaign.
Meanwhile the Young Underwriter of the Year award went to Jon Spence of XL Catlin.
Markel found glory in the Insurance Team of the Year category; its fintech team took home that award.
