Chubb's Koppang moves to Everest

The growing insurance business of Everest Re has brought in Eric Koppang as executive vice president for its specialty casualty team. Koppang will be based in Chicago where he will be responsible for helping to expand the firm’s excess and surplus (E&S) casualty unit in the wholesale space. He will report to Connie Germano, head of specialty casualty. “I am excited for the opportunity to lead the dynamic and innovative Everest Insurance® E&S Casualty team where we have the talent and resources in place to be fast and nimble while executing upon our core strategies,” Koppang said following his appointment. The new vice president most previously served at Chubb as senior vice president and construction practice leader for more than 17 years. He also held positions at both Aetna and CNA E&S. At Chubb, he led the Westchester E&S casualty group and was responsible for the establishment of Westchester’s Chicago office. Earlier this year, Everest Re's president and chief executive Dominic Addesso told Reactions that the insurance market was one where his company sees considerable opportunity, and North America will play a key part in that expansion.
