Willis Re report: Why 2018 nat cat losses are unusual
Insured losses from major natural catastrophes totalled roughly $71.5bn in 2018 – and even though it was one of the highest loss years on record, that was unusual in that the losses were due not to one large event but to several mid-sized ones, according to the Summary of Natural Catastrophe Events 2018 report, published by Willis Re.
