Day 4 in Monte Carlo: Au revoir

Day 4 in Monte Carlo: Au revoir

Bonjour! The Reactions team and I continue to bring it to you “live” from Monaco, delivering all the latest news and interviews from the Monte Carlo Rendez-Vous, the reinsurance industry’s largest annual gathering of high-level re/insurance professionals.

This year we’ve celebrated the 25th anniversary of The Rendez-Vous Reporter, our longstanding newsletter/show daily, which we still publish on site each day. We’ve produced four again this year, continuing through today (Wednesday).

Tuesday began with my hosting an outstanding roundtable of executives discussing digital “disruption,” although many of us came away wondering if we should call it that at all anymore. Participants included Tim Gardner, chief executive of Lockton Global Re; Argo Group president and chief executive Mark Watson; Mike Krefta, chief executive of Hiscox Re; Peter Vogt, chief financial officer at AXIS Capital; Jed Rhoads, president and chief underwriting officer of Markel Corp.; CCR Re Deputy CEO Laurent Montador; Henri Winand, chief executive of AkinovA; and many others, including Jean-Paul Conoscente, chief executive of SCOR Global P&C, who later that evening also sat down with me for an exclusive live interview at our invite-only cocktail hour at the Hotel hermitage.

As you might imagine, it was quite a day.

On Wednesday I board my flight back to New York, but we’ll always have Monte Carlo – and now, so will you. Check it our fourth issue of the 2019 Rendez-Vous Reporter here, and while you’re at it, have a look at the other digital editions from SundayMonday and Tuesday still available here on Reactionsnet.com.

By the way, check out this photo: I call this a Monte Car.

Cheers,

Shawn Moynihan
