23 Apr 2018A Mw5.4 earthquake struck about 17 mi (27 km) southeast of Adiyaman (pop. ~270,000) at 00:34 UTC (03:34 local time) on April 24, according to the Turkish Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute (KOERI). The epicentre was at a depth of 8 mi (13 km). The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported a slightly lower magnitude of Mw5.2 at a shallower depth of 6 mi (10 km) at a similar location.
